I think it's very important to flesh out the changes that need to be made to get Rok back to being close to what it was during its heyday. Maybe now is a good time to throw ideas out there, since there's no pressure to do anything right now. Here's a few of mine:
1. Scheduling. The regular season must finish by April or (at the latest) May and the playoffs done by May/June. The season dragging on into August and September, not to mention never even officially finishing last year, is a killer. 2. Full league. No matter what is said to the contrary, a league cannot survive, long-term, with 15 or less GMs. 3. Power sharing. Brett needs a full-time co-commissioner with full power to act in the best interest of the league. Skip the BOD that has little actual power. Someone who can be online fairly frequently and can resolve issues, approve trades, do sims, urge slow players to get their games done and be an ear to disputes, is needed. All these things need to be done realtime in a quick fashion so that things can move forward, especially when Brett isn't available. 4. Web site help. This is obvious, but having a crap site or none at all for a great stretch of time is another killer. I really believe these changes are needed. They aren't just "nice" things. The problem is that if nothing is done to solve the issues, the league will have 15 GMs or less again and then people will start waffling off once more when they have to play a cpu team every other game, can't get in touch with Mr. paddleboater when something needs answering and/or have to play the regular season deep into the summer or worse. |

i think #4 is the most important...followed by #3 and #2. Scheduling shouldnt be a problem, if we have a league of guys that are willing to play. But the website is first and foremost...and i think it needs to be php style....but i dont know it. Need to find a GM that know it or can at least design it, then we take it from there. But spending $2500 for a website is rediculous for a league that has never turned a profit in its exceistence...or ever tried to. :)
